Founded in 2020 by Eve Halimi and Anam Lakhani (co-CEOs), who met at Barnard College and Columbia University, and joined by Daniel Nissenbaum (CTO), the company emerged from a shared frustration: as former Goldman Sachs interns, they found investing intimidating and inaccessible, especially for young women and first-generation Americans like themselves. Alinea’s mission is to close the financial literacy gap for Gen Z—particularly young professional women by making investing approachable, personalized, and value-driven. The subscription-based app blends robo-advisory like Wealthfront with social trading like Robinhood.
