Coursedog provides academic operations software for higher education, covering the scheduling, curriculum management, and catalog processes that determine what a university can actually offer each term. These workflows are usually run through a student information system built decades ago, supplemented by spreadsheets and institutional memory, and the consequences of getting them wrong are concrete: courses that clash, rooms that sit empty, prerequisite chains that quietly delay graduation, and accreditation documentation assembled by hand.

Coursedog treats scheduling and curriculum as an optimisation and workflow problem rather than a records problem, layering on top of the existing system of record instead of demanding replacement, which is what makes adoption feasible in institutions that cannot rip out core infrastructure. Backed since 2019 and supported by a 90 million dollar growth investment, the company serves more than 170 institutions. Higher education buys slowly, but once these processes run on a platform, switching costs are substantial and renewal behaviour is strong. Expansion within an institution, from scheduling into curriculum and catalog, tends to follow the first successful deployment.
