Build a Sustainable Future in Space
Turion Space is an Irvine, California-based space technology company founded in 2020 by Ryan Westerdahl and Tyler James Pierce. The company is dedicated to addressing two critical challenges in space: space domain awareness and orbital debris management. Its mission is to build the servicing infrastructure for a resilient space domain, enabling sustainable growth in low Earth orbit (LEO) by providing space situational awareness data and in-space logistics services, such as satellite servicing and debris removal. The company’s core technology revolves around its “Droid” spacecraft—small, autonomous satellites designed for versatility. The Droid.001, a 32-kilogram microsatellite launched in June 2023 on a SpaceX Transporter flight, marked Turion’s first operational step. It’s equipped with advanced sensors for non-Earth imaging and space situational awareness, completing over 100 imaging missions in 2024 alone for government and commercial clients.
